The French national football team is looking to ensure they do not make the same mistakes that negated their hopes of winning the Euro 2016 final when they take on Croatia at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium, midfielder Paul Pogba said in an interview.
The flamboyant French superstar is looking forward to a well-deserved vacation after the tournament, and knows the only way to enjoy his short break before joining his club side for the new season is by beating Croatia
During the interview, the Manchester United man said, “I really hope not to lose this final and to have some good vacations afterwards, because my holidays after the Euro 2016 final were not good at all.” He went on to say, “I still have not fully digested it. Now, I know the taste of a defeat in a final, and it is not good, it is very bitter.” “We will not approach the final the same way we did at the Euros.
Les Bleus seemed to have underrated Portugal at euro 2016 after beating Germany in the semi-final. They have hence rejected the favourite tag before the final, so as not to distract the task at hand.
In his words, “We thought that the match was already won and I think that was our mistake. Now it is not the same.” “We are all very conscious, we are all focused, and we don’t want to repeat that error that we made in the old days.” “We want to approach this game differently.” We want to get it, to give everything to bring this trophy back home.”
France will take on Croatia at the Luzhniki Stadium later in the afternoon, drawing the curtain on what has been an exciting World Cup in Russia.
