Tokyo 2020 organising committee to host world media

By: Oma Akatugba

The Olympic games is the biggest sporting event on earth, an event which takes place every 4 years. It brings the world together to a celebration of the very best of sports and global unity. In 2020, the world will converge in Tokyo Japan, to experience what could go down in history, as the best Olympic games ever hosted. In a bid to inform the world of their vision, plans and readiness to stage the games in 2020, the organising committee for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympic games is inviting the world media to Tokyo, as from the 4th until the 7th of September 2018 for a press briefing. There would also be other events like a tour of the venue set aside to stage the games in 2020. This will offer the world media the ample opportunity of seeing the venues for the games first hand.

Tokyo hosted the games in 1964, and according to the organising committee, the games completely transformed the Asian nation, enhanced its people’s awareness of the outside world and developed the rapid growth of the country´s economy.

There is also the belief that, the 2020 Games will enable Japan, now a mature economy, to promote future changes throughout the world, and leave a positive legacy for future generations.
