Tottenham manager, Jose Mourinho has said he won’t leave Tottenham without ‘helping’ the team win a silverware.

Mourinho who was appointed after the dismissal of former manager, Mauricio Pochettino signed a five year deal with the North Londoners. He has changed the fortunes of the team, helping them to a better standing in the Premier League.

However, he is battling for survival in the Champions League as they face a dicey task against a young and brilliant RB Leipzig side.

Mourinho, responding to questions from Omasports, about his chances of winning a trophy with Tottenham, said;

“I believe that Tottenham is not going to be my only club without a silverware. I won with every club. I believe that I am also going to do it with Tottenham. I am here for three or four months. I got the team in a very difficult situation now the situation is even more difficult with all the problems we have but I believe in myself, the players and the club. I believe that during my contract I am going to help the club it is not me winning, it is helping the club and the players to do it and for tomorrow, I think the mental side is very important, because sometimes you win on quality, options or a phenomenal bench that can help you turn a match around. At this moment that is not our case. we have a very small group of players giving everything they have for each other. I think if we can make it tomorrow it will because of the fantastic empathy that we have as a group and it is easy to have a good group hen the situation is amazing and more difficult to have a good group when the situation is hard. So I am with the boys, I believe in them and hopefully I can help them tomorrow.”

While responding to questions on the mood of the boys being right, he said;

“The momentum is negative right now in terms of result. We lost and we drew in the last two matches. Even one of the draws ended in a defeat on penalties. So the momentum is not the best. I just feel that the boys deserve something special. the group is very good. the bys they give everything. I like to be honest. if we look at our games against Norwich, Wolves and Burnley I think we fought really hard against all the circumstance. I think the boys deserve this kind of happiness hat a victory in the knockout of the champions league can give. But sometimes in football, you don’t get what you deserve. We just have to accept and move on but at the moment we are not in a condition to accept anything. We are in a condition to fight for the tie and as far as the defeat is concerned, at home, we got the best defeat. 0-1  is the best defeat. It is better than losing 1-2, 2-3 or 0-4-. It is not an awful defeat, it is one that leaves the door open.

“Of course, I will prefer to be in that position but they feel the pressure. I believe that they feel the pressure. They are winning at home and we are going to have a goal. we have nothing to lose.

On if this will be one of his great champions league achievements if he gets past Leipzig, Mourinho said “The achievement that stay for history are the victories. Of course it would be amazing if we did it but it’s like when you lose a final you throw away the medal. My biggest achievements in the competition were when I won it.”

On whether, he believes in the clubs motto of DARE TO WIN

“I read it every day because it is written everywhere in the training ground. Of course, it is. I have been in football for so many years and I think many people know more or less my philosophy my policy, people know more or less what I love and what I hate. Yes, I feel more connection with to dare is to do and tomorrow is time to give absolutely everything. we win or we leave everything that we have on that pitch.
