World Cup qualifiers: Nigeria fall to defeat against Central African Republic in Lagos

Nigeria’s Super Eagles were beaten 1–0 by Central African Republic in their World Cup qualifying clash at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Thursday.

Both nations were heading for a full-time draw before the Wild Beasts struck in the 91st minute through Karl Namnganda.

Despite the defeat, Nigeria still top Group C with six points, while Central African Republic are in third with four points. Second-placed Cape Verde also have four points, while Liberia are bottom of the group with three points.

The Super Eagles will travel to Cameroon to face Central African Republic in the return fixture on Sunday.
