Cristiano Ronaldo fired blanks again in his second game for his new club Al-Nassr as they crashed out of the Saudi Super Cup, losing 3-1 to Al-Ittihad.
The Portuguese forward was through on goal in the first half but failed to score after Al-Ittihad went ahead inside 15 minutes through Romanrinho.
Al Nasser’s coach Rudi Garcia appears to have blamed Ronaldo for the defeat. He believes the outcome could have been different if Ronaldo had not fluffed his lines at that crucial moment.
“One of the things that changed the course of the match was Cristiano Ronaldo’s missed opportunity in the first half,” the French manager told reporters after the match.
