Felix Agu has signed a contract extension with Werder Bremen, committing his future to the German club.

“Felix has come on tremendously as a player since joining us. He’s shown he constantly wants to work on his game, he’s played well in several different positions and his performances in this season in particular have been very consistent. We’re very pleased that he will be staying with us here at SVW,” Sporting Director Frank Baumann said.

Head coach Ole Werner was equally thrilled about the news. “The contract extension is confirmation of his development. His performances at the moment are very consistent and I’m convinced that if continues to work hard, he has a bright future at Werder Bremen.”

The 22-year-old, born in Germany but of Nigerian descent, signed for Werder Bremen in summer 2020 from VfL Osnabruck.

He made 15 appearances for the Green-Whites in the Bundesliga, scoring one goal, and has played 15 times for SVW in the Bundesliga 2, and he’s made 43 appearances in the second-tier throughout his entire career.
