The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has confirmed the draw for the Fifa World Cup qualification play-offs will be done on January 26.

The pairing had been scheduled for December 18, but after the Extraordinary Assembly held on Friday, a decision was reached to push the process to early next year.

The members also agreed the seeding will be done based on the January 2022 rankings whereby the top five-ranked teams will be paired with five unseeded sides.

Nigeria, Algeria, Tunisia, Cameroon, Mali, Egypt, Ghana, Senegal, Morocco, and DR Congo all topped their respective groups in the group stage qualifiers and will contest the playoffs in March.

Of the ten nations, only five will be at the World Cup in Qatar next year.
