Bayern Munich are closing in on former Borussia Dortmund manager, Thomas Tuchel, OmaSports understands.
The Bavarian side sacked Carlo Ancelotti on Thursday, following the 3-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League, and are on the lookout for a new manager.
Jurgen Klopp, Julian Nagelsmann and Tuchel have all been mooted, but it is the immediate past Dortmund manager that Bayern have spoken to, and a deal could be announced soon.
However, Tuchel, 44, doesn’t have the overwhelming support of the Bayern hierarchy, OmaSports also understands. He only lasted two seasons at Dortmund before being sacked, and there are concerns among some members of the Bayern board whether he has the personality to manage a club of Bayern’s size.
The reservations, notwithstanding, the German champions have spoken to Tuchel and a decision is expected to be reached soon.
Meanwhile, Willy Sagnol will take charge on a temporary basis, before a new substantive manager is appointed.
