BREAKING NEWS: Bayern Completes the signing of Sandro Wagner from TSG Hoffenheim

FC Bayern München has signed Sandro Wagner from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. After completing the medical check, the 30-year-old German national team striker signed a 2 years contract that will run from 1 January 2018 to 30 June 2020.

Sandro Wagner, who was born in Munich and whose family lives there, played eleven years for Bayern already in its youth setup, before he made the leap to the amateurs (2006) and to the professionals (2007 – 2008), for which he played four Bundesliga games. Afte stints with MSV Duisburg, Werder Bremen, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Hertha BSC and Darmstadt 98, the 1.94-meter attacker moved in 2016 to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where he scored 18 goals in 50 competitive games and earned his first national team call-up (7 caps / 5 Gates).

The European Under-21 champion in 2009 and Confed Cup winner in 2017, who is currently preparing for the second half of the season with the Bundesliga leaders at the training camp in Qatar, said after signing the contract: “I’m really happy. A long journey comes to an end for me, I come home to my club, in my homeland. I am very happy that everything worked out. Bayern is the best club in Germany and one of the best in the world. When the offer came, I did not have to think twice. ”

Hasan Salihamidzic, the sports director of FC Bayern Munich was also satisfied: “With Sandro Wagner signing, we have another German international at Bayern. We are confident that Sandro Wagner will further enhance the quality of our team through his class and experience. “
