Everton escape relegation with sensational come-from-behind victory over Crystal Palace

Everton produced a sensational second-half performance as they came from two goals down to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 and save their Premier League season.

Everton, playing their penultimate match of the season, were just a point above the relegation zone. And within 36 minutes at Goodison Park on Friday night, they were trailing Palace 2-0.

The Toffees went into the break right on the edge of defeat, but they would return with renewed vigour.

Less than ten minutes after the restart, defender Michael Keane hit a superb shot to reduce the deficit before Richarlison sent home fans into fits of euphoria with the second in the 75th minute.

Ten minutes later, Dominic Calvert Lewin raised the roof with a superb header, completing a remarkable turnaround that ensures Everton’s safety in the Premier League.

They’re now 16th – four points above the relegation zone, with just one round of fixture left for all sides.

Lampard and his men face Arsenal on the final day – but they can now rest after what’s been a challenging campaign.

Elsewhere, Burnley and Aston Villa played out a 1-1 draw. The result keeps Burnley in 17th but level on points with 18th-placed Leeds, heading into the final day.

Leeds will travel to face Brentford, while Burnley host Newcastle.
