Three Signings That Newcastle United Should Target After Eddie Howe.

It seems like everything around the world of football, especially English football has revolved around what’s happening with Newcastle United. After the now-famous Saudi-backed buyout of the club, a whole new world came upon St James Park. With a plethora of rumors of coaches and players who would be the best fit to join the struggling team now that they have all the money to spend and not enough time to get going, of course, that Newcastle would be the talk of the town. If you were to ask the top experts about their top football or soccer predictions today, they would most likely still see Newcastle United as a team without a proper escape route to avoid relegation, but they have at least started to make some moves in a positive direction.

After finally landing their new head coach in former Bournemouth skipper Eddie Howe, things are starting to shape up, even if at minimal, for Newcastle. But what will happen next? Signings of course, hopefully, some that will help bring this team to new heights, away from the direct relegation spots and into a land of EPL safety, were thinking about how to truly start growing this project might work best. With this said, we bring you our picks for the three best signings that Newcastle United should target on acquiring after bringing Eddie Howe in.

Jesse Lingard

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is getting near which is why all players looking to land a spot in their respective National teams will be looking for as much playing time and exposure as possible. That’s exactly the case with Manchester United’s offensive midfielder Jesse Lingard. After having a promising start to his career in his boyhood club, Man United, Lingard has sort of fallen out of favor with the club, especially with how crowded and talented all of the options the team has at midfield are.

Lingard who last season saw his playing time and stock automatically rise after spending the season with West Ham United, went back to Manchester United hoping that his work with West Ham would be enough to secure him more playing time and a more protagonistic role with his team, only to find himself once again relegated to limited playing minutes and no real importance. This is exactly why, moving to a team like Newcastle United, where he would automatically be a starter and a lead player in Newcastle’s midfield would work marvelously for both the player and the team. If Newcastle is willing to put up around 15 to 20 million pounds for him, they would honestly be getting one of the best deals around, especially with a player who is more than ready to shred it up on the field in the hopes of landing a spot in England’s Qatar 2022 team.

Donny Van de Beek

Let’s stay with Manchester United once again to talk about yet another midfielder whose move to Newcastle United might end up being an automatic level-up for the ailing team’s midfield. Dutch player Donny Van de Beek was brought into Manchester United from Dutch giants Ajax, looked upon as the next great leader of United’s midfield alongside the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba. Well fast forward a year and a couple of months after his arrival and it seems that Van de Beek is nowhere close to being a pivotal part of United’s plans moving forward.

While only still 24 years of age, Van de Beek was one of the most important players in Ajax’s 2019 UEFA Champions League semifinals run, which saw his team get knocked out in one of the most heartbreaking ways, against Tottenham. Van de Beek’s creative style of playing could be the perfect tool that Eddie Howe can use to revive Newcastle’s midfield, and if they can pair him up alongside Lingard, given that he is signed as well, both players could become one of the best midfield duos in the league. It’s clear that the Dutch player has tons of football talents still left to give, and while he cost Man U a hefty 40 million pounds, it’s becoming more and more clear as time passes that Manchester will surely let him go for way cheaper if it means finally seeing the Dutch midfielder exit.

Tyrone Mings

It’s more than clear that Eddie Howe should worry about working on their defense before anything else, which is why the idea of Howe reuniting with former Bournemouth center-back and Aston Villa captain Tyrone Mings would make perfect sense. But why would Mings want to leave Aston Villa? For starters, it’s not like Villa’s situation is any better than Newcastle’s with the team also fighting for their livelihood this season in the EPL. The upside for joining Newcastle is that in the long run, at least for the season, it feels like Newcastle will surely be able to see the light of day before Aston Villa does.

Mings could work out perfectly as one of the new leaders of Newcastle´s defense moving forward, and given his relationship with Howe and how the idea of a long-lasting project with plenty of investment capital involved to turn the team into a true contender sounds as appealing as ever, it’s on Villa’s captain to make whichever move he feels best for his career.
