IMC charge 3SC, Camp Commandant for ‘pissing’

The Interim Management Committee(IMC) of the NPFL was called to action when a picture of a 3SC official urinating in the middle of the shooting stars home pitch ahead of 3SC and Akwa United clash surfaced on social media, Monday.

The individual, now identified as the team’s camp commandant Auwal Mohammed, was pictured taking a piss in the center circle of the Lekan Salami stadium in Ibadan much to the disappointment and dismay of many.

The IMC was forced to respond due to reactions and uproar of supporters and neutrals, and punishments have begun to fly.

Auwal Mohammed has now been banned by the IMC, from all NPFL- related activity for a year, and the ban takes effect immediately.

3SC did not also escape punishment as they were handed a 500 thousand Naira fine for bringing the game to disrepute and failing to control team official.

NPFL STATEMENT:

“On Sunday 19 of February 2023, in the course of Match Day 9 Fixture: Shooting Stars SC vs. Akwa United FC, it Camp Commandant, Auwal Mohammed, was spotted urinating on the playing pitch, which is a despicable act that is capable of bringing the game to disrepute.

Shooting Stars also breached Rule C9 of the Frameworks and Rules of the Nigeria Premier Football League, as in the course of the Match Day 9 Fixture against Akwa United, they failed to control the conduct of their officials which resulted in Auwal Mohammed urinating on the playing pitch in the full glare of the general public.

Consequently, the NPFL hereby imposes on Shooting Stars the following sanctions:a fine of Five Hundred Thousand Naira only (N500,000) for bringing the game to disrepute and failing to control the conduct of your official.

An order suspending Auwal Mohammed from all NPFL-related activities for one year, effective immediately.

A warning to Shooting Stars to take appropriate measures to prevent the occurrence of similar incidents in the future.

By Rule C26, 3SC management is required, within 48 hours of the date of this notice, to either: submit to the summary jurisdiction and the sanctions contained herein; or elect a date to be dealt with by a disciplinary panel.

Any such election must be in writing and addressed to the undersigned at the office of the NPFL. Should you submit to the summary jurisdiction and the prescribed sanctions, kindly note that the fines therein are to be paid within 7 working days.

Note that by Rule E1, where an appeal or election to be dealt with by a disciplinary panel fails or is found to have been frivolous, such a party may be liable to such additional sanction(s) as may be deemed fit in the circumstances”

The aforementioned match between Shooting Stars and Awka United ended in a 2-2 draw in Ibadan.
