Knights of Libya have chosen the Martyrs of Benina Stadium as venue for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The match is set to take place on Tuesday, October 15, at the 10,000-capacity stadium in Benina, located 19 kilometers from Benghazi. The venue, formerly known as Hugo Chávez Stadium, features an artificial pitch, which may pose some challenges for the Super Eagles.

The two teams will first meet at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria on October 11 before the clash in Libya. Kickoff for the match is 8pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria currently tops Group D in the race for a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations spot, having garnered four points from their first two games. They began their campaign with a commanding 3-0 win over Benin Republic in Uyo and followed it with a goalless draw against Rwanda in Kigali.

Meanwhile, Libya sit at the bottom of the group, having drawn 1-1 at home against Rwanda and lost 2-1 to Benin Republic in Abidjan.

Libya will hope to get their AFCON campaign back on track against Nigeria and boost their qualification chances, while Nigeria will look to build on their strong start and move closer to securing a place in the biennial tournament under interim head coach, Augustine Eguavoen.
