”It’s all God” – Boniface says after maiden Bundesliga triumph
Victor Boniface expressed delight and appreciation following Bayer Leverkusen’s maiden Bundesliga triumph at the Bay Arena on Sunday evening.
Leverkusen outclassed Werder Bremen 5-0 to clinch the title with five games to spare – with Boniface opening the scoring.
“It’s all God,” the Nigerian striker told Omasports, exclusively. “It has never been easy. We know our background.”
Boniface joined Leverkusen in July last season from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and made an instant impact.
He currently has 11 goals in 18 league games – despite being sidelined with injury for four months.
“I am really happy. It’s my first year in Germany and winning the league with five games to go – it makes me so happy.”
Leverkusen are on course for a remarkable treble. They are in the final of the DFB Pokal and are one leg into the semifinals of the Europa League.
They have not lost a competitive match this season.
