The captain of Super Eagles Ahmed Musa has said he is not bothered being placed on the bench at the Nations Cup.

The experienced winger, who was part of the 2013 victorious squad alongside Kenneth Omeruo, has not featured in any single minute of the six games Nigeria have played so far in the tournament.

Speaking at the prematch presser ahead of the final, Musa was posed with a question whether he is bothered being on the bench. “I’ve had times that I play for my colleagues to win. If I’m placed on the bench for my colleagues to win for me I’m not bothered”.

Coach Jose Peseiro and his charges will look to lift the trophy for the 4th time and first since 2013.

Ahmed Musa and Kenneth Omeruo could become the only players to win 2 AFCON titles in the history of Nigerian football.

The late Stephen Keshi won as a player and coach in 1994 and 2013.
