Umar Sadiq scores goal of the season contender as Real Sociedad beat Sevilla
Nigeria international Umar Sadiq produced a moment of sheer brilliance to score Real Sociedad’s second goal as they beat Sevilla 2-1 to move up to 5th on the La Liga standings.
Real Sociedad went ahead inside the opening three minutes through a Sevilla own goal and Sadiq, who had struggled for form after his return from a season-long injury layoff, extended their lead with an absolute cracker – a spectacular long-range strike – his first goal of the season.
In the 22nd minute, Sadiq received the ball from Hamari Traoré in the middle of the pitch and dribbled past two Sevilla players before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner from outside of the box.

The goal, as well as providing a much-needed morale boost, summed the 26-year-old Nigerian perfectly. It was an extraordinary show of ambition, athleticism and technique.
