Mourinho expected to leave Roma at the end of the season
José Mourinho will leave Roma at the end of his contract in June, claims Sky Sport transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio.
Mourinho signed a three-year deal in the capital in 2021, so his current agreement with the Giallorossi expires at the end of the season.
Speaking about Mourinho’s possible contract extension with Roma on Monday, Sky Sport Italia’s pundit Gianluca Di Marzio said: “It won’t happen.”
“There are no negotiations ongoing, there have never been. So they’ll part company at the end of the deal in June,” Di Marzio continued.
A number of Saudi clubs had been linked with hiring the Special One last summer, but Mourinho decided to stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
Nevertheless, the Portuguese coach has recently claimed he will take over a Saudi club one day.
“Surely, once Mourinho will be free, they [Saudi clubs] will try again,” said Di Marzio.
“It remains to be seen what Mourinho thinks about his future. Whether he wants to coach a new European club or go there [to Saudi Arabia].”
Mourinho has won 59 of his 119 games in charge of Roma, lifting the Conference League in 2022 and losing the Europa League Final in 2023.
