Saudi Arabia scored deep in stoppage time to force a 2-2 draw with Nigeria in an international friendly at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão in Portugal on Friday evening.

Following a goalless first half, Saudi Arabia went ahead through Salman Al Faraj in the 60th minute but an own goal 13 minutes later saw the Super Eagles draw level.

Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho would put Nigeria 2-1 up nine minutes from time but the Arabs, against the run of play and in the 10th minute of stoppage time, found the equalizer.

The draw, though a friendly, snapped a three-game winning run for the Super Eagles, who have been drawn to face Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations – which begins in January.
