Osimhen hits hat-trick as Nigeria sink Sao Tome & Principe in Afcon qualifiers
Star forward Victor Osimhen shone with a hattrick as Nigeria’s Super Eagles soundly defeated Sao Tome and Principe 6-0 in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Sunday.
Osimhen, who was recently nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or, and Ademola Lookman scored in the first half.
Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal, Victor Osimhen’s penalty kick, another second-half goal from Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze sealed victory for the Super Eagles, who’d already qualified for the finals in Ivory Coast.
