Taiwo Awoniyi scores but not enough to stop Arsenal

Arsenal held off a late charge by Nottingham Forest to prevail 2-1 in their 2023-24 Premier League season opener on Saturday.

Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring before Bukayo Saka hit a superb second. Forest would pull one back late in the game through Nigeria forward Taiwo Awoniyi but it wasn’t enough to stop the Gunners taking all three points at the Emirates.
