Atletico Madrid sign Nigerian teenage sensation Samu Omorodion

Atletico Madrid have signed 19-year-old Samu Omorodion from Granada days after the Nigerian scored against them in their 2023/24 La Liga season opener.

Omorodion scored Granada’s only goal in a 3-1 defeat to Atletico but his performance did not go unnoticed.

Atletico has reportedly agreed to pay the player’s termination clause of 6m euros and then loan him to a La Liga side – most likely Cadiz.

Omorodion was instrumental in Granada’s return to the Spanish top-flight, helping the side finish top of the second division last season.

The teenager has featured for Spain U-19 but is eligible to play for Nigeria.
