‘If Kane keeps his word, we’ll get him,’ Bayern chief says
Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness is confident Tottenham striker Harry Kane will join the Bundesliga champions this summer.
The two clubs met on Thursday to discuss Kane’s possible switch to the Allianz Arena, although no meaningful progress was made between Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen.
Dialogue remains open, however, with Bayern confident the transfer will take place.
“Harry Kane has clearly signalled in all conversations that his decision stands – and if he keeps to his word, then we’ll get him, because then Tottenham will have to buckle,” Hoeness told Sport1.
“Kane wants to play internationally and luckily for us Tottenham will not be active internationally next year.”
Kane has not ruled out any option at this stage and was part of the Tottenham squad that departed for their preseason tour to Australia on Friday.
