Lewandowski frustrated with Messi’s transfer saga
Robert Lewandowski has expressed his frustration with the conflicting reports in the media that surrounded Lionel Messi’s transfer saga to Barcelona.
The Polish international, who joined Barcelona in 2022, revealed that there were daily fluctuations in the reports about Messi’s potential move before it was eventually announced that the Argentine would be heading to MLS to join Inter Miami.
Lewandowski also suggested that many reports concerning the Catalan giants are fabricated by individuals in the media.
During an interview with TVP Sport, the striker stated, “It doesn’t make sense to follow information that claims there is a 90% chance today and a 10% chance the next day. Information about Barcelona is difficult to keep up with. Many times, they are invented by those who write positively or negatively about Barcelona. When I wanted to gather information, I knew who to contact and I understood the real situation. I inquired about the possibilities.”
Just last month, Lewandowski had expressed his desire to play alongside Messi at Barcelona once it became clear that the Argentine would not be renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Talks were reportedly held between La Liga champions led by manager Xavi and the player’s representatives, but ultimately, a transfer did not come to fruition.
