Former Nigeria striker Joseph Akpala Appointed Interim Manager of KV Kortrijk in Belgium
Former Nigeria international forward Joseph Akpala has taken on the role of interim manager at Belgian club KV Kortrijk.
Akpala, who had successful spells in the Jupiler Pro League with Club Brugge, Royale Charleroi, and KV Oostende, has stepped up from his assistant manager position at a crucial juncture for the club.
KV Kortrijk has been facing challenges, as they have been without a head coach, chairman, and manager since April.
Additionally, the club is up for sale, adding further uncertainty to their situation. In light of these circumstances, Akpala’s appointment as interim manager comes as a significant move for KV Kortrijk.
With his experience as a player in the Jupiler Pro League and his previous role as assistant manager, Akpala, 36, brings valuable knowledge and understanding to the position. He will be tasked with leading the team during this transitional period, as the club seeks stability and a long-term solution.
Akpala played for the Super Eagles from 2008 to 2013, making nine appearances.
