Muchova stuns Sabalenka to reach French Open final
Karolina Muchova, ranked 43rd in the world, defied odds to reach French Open women’s final after a thrilling victory over Aryna Sabalenka.
In a gripping match, Muchova triumphed 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, displaying resilience by saving a match point at 5-2 in the decisive set.

“I don’t really know what happened,” Muchova said. “It is unbelievable. I tried to keep fighting and it worked. I’m so happy.”
The 26-year-old Czech player now awaits the winner between top-seeded Iga Swiatek from Poland and 14th seed Beatriz Haddad Maia from Brazil, with the final scheduled for Saturday.
Notably, Swiatek, the defending champion, will retain her world number one ranking if she prevails over Haddad Maia and advances to the final, having held the position for an impressive 62 consecutive weeks.
