Nigerian Footballer To Appear In Danish Court Over Alleged Sexual Assaults
Former Nigeria U17 midfielder who plays for F.C. Copenhagen in the Danish Superliga, Akinwunmi Amoo is due to appear in a Danish court on the 23rd of June, to respond to charges over alleged sexual assaults and two other unspecified counts. Source @osasuo on Twitter.
The former Hammarby IF of Sweden player has since been suspended by his Superliga club F.C. Copenhagen following the incidents.
Amoo was initially arrested on the 10th of September last year and was reminded in prison for almost a month before he was released on bail on the 7th of October last year.
The criminal charges against the former U17 player were laid by the Danish authorities in April, July, and August last year.
Amoo has since left Denmark to come back to Nigeria after the allegations were laid against him.
