Modric Out For Some Weeks Says Ancelotti
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Croatian midfielder Luka Modric will be out for some weeks due to a thigh injury.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is set to extend his stay at Madrid with a year contract. The length of the injury is still yet unknown with Madrid facing Manchester City in the semi-finals of the Champions League in 11 days.
The 37-year-old played for over an hour in Madrid’s 4-2 defeat away at Girona in their midweek league match.
” He had an injury in the last match against Girona and he is out of action for some weeks”, says the Madrid manager Ancelotti during the press conference ahead of the La Liga game against Almeria this weekend.
” We don’t know if he will be fit for the Copa game. We are hurt and we hope he recovers in time to play in our important matches.”
Real Madrid will host Almeria in the league this weekend, before taking to the field against Osasuna in the final of the Copa del Rey next weekend and following up with a two-legged semi-final against Manchester City in the Champions League.
