Fahd Bin Saad Bin Nafel, the president of the Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, praised the role the Saudi royal family played in the "exceptional" growth of the sport in the nation. These come after his team's rout of Qatari club Al-Duhail 7-0 in the semi-final.
Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo scored four goals, and his African compatriot Moussa Marega also scored a brace in a resounding victory.
Al Hilal are the reigning AFC Champions League winners. They only recently lost to Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco. They’ve now reached another champions league final and will face Urawa Reds of Japan.
