Former Real Madrid star Marcelo has left Olympiacos by mutual consent, just five months after signing for the Greek club.
Marcelo signed for Olympiacos in the summer after 16 seasons in Madrid.
He signed a one-year contract with Olympiacos that included the option for an extra season.
But he has now departed having played just five Greek Super League games for the club.
Talks between Marcelo and Olympiacos over the terms of his exit have now been concluded on Saturday morning, with the club releasing a statement.
The entire #Olympiacos family would like to thank @MarceloM12 for his cooperation and presence in Olympiacos. The time he stayed with us was brief but enough to create everlasting bonds. He knows that in Greece, in Piraeus he will always have friends!#Marcelo #M12 #ThankYou pic.twitter.com/mo4r3kvrsW

The Athletic is reporting that the 34-year-old wants to continue playing. The veteran left-back will be free to negotiate a new contract with another club when his current deal is terminated.
He’s now back with his family in Madrid.
Marcelo won 25 major honours during his time at Real Madrid, including five Champions League titles.
He has won 58 caps for Brazil, helping the national team to win the Confederations Cup in 2013.
