Eden Hazard never trains, he is the laziest – Obi Mikel
John Obi Mikel and Eden Hazard played together for Chelsea between 2012 - 2017 with Mikel now revealing Hazard's training regimen
Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has made some startling revelations about Eden Hazard during the duo’s time together at the London Club.
Hazard and Obi Mikel were teammates at Chelsea for five fruitful years, and Obi has disclosed all of Hazard’s training routines.
“Eden Hazard was the only player that didn’t train much but still got away with it.”
“Hazard never trains, he is the laziest footballer I’ve ever seen in my life.”
However, Obi then went on to praise Hazard’s impact come weekend:
“The night before games after dinner, he sits there for 20 mins eating rice pudding, he likes his food! Then he goes to bed and wakes up on Saturday and produces the goods. He will win the man of the match and then after the match he comes in with the [man of the match] trophy and be like ‘come on guys you see’..”

John Obi added that the Chelsea coaches were aware of this and just gave him free reign to do as he pleases.
“In training he just stands and demands the ball but some of the players are like ‘no we won’t pass you the ball’ because we’ve been running the whole session. But then comes the weekend, he always produces.”
Mikel joined Chelsea in 2006 and won two Premier league titles with the Blues. But perhaps his biggest moment came in the 2011-12 campaign when Chelsea won the UEFA champions league for the first time in the club’s history. Hazard moved to Chelsea in the 2012-13 season
