Brazil’s football association – the CBF – have released a statement following reports linking Carlo Ancelotti with the national team job.

The Selecao parted ways with Tite following a disappointing 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign, falling at the quarter-final stage to Croatia on penalties.

In his place, Brazil have been tipped to hire a foreign manager for the first time, with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti consistently touted with the job.

But the CBF have denied a fresh report which stated that Ancelotti would take on the role at the end of the European club season.

A statement read: “The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) informs that the news released this Friday (10/02) that the coach of Real Madrid, Italian Carlo Ancelotti, is the new coach of the Brazilian national team is unfounded.

“President Ednaldo Rodrigues maintains the statements given on Wednesday, after the drawing of the matches for the Copa do Brasil.

“At the time, the official ruled out speculation, saying that the matter is dealt with transparently and that the coach chosen will be announced at the right time.”

Ancelotti, who is currently at the FIFA Club World Cup with Real, once again denied talks with the CBF at a press conference recently.
