I could have played for Nigeria – Musiala

Jamal Musiala, the Bayern Munich star has said the thought of playing for Nigeria crossed his mind.

Musiala, 19, who was born to a German mother, and a British-Nigerian father had turned out for both England and Germany at the junior levels.

However, when it came time to play for his country at the senior level, he chose to represent Germany rather than the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

“I could have played for Nigeria which also crossed my mind, and I thought about it as well.” Musiala explained.

“I had good talks with both of them, so it really just came down to me and where I’d feel the most comfortable. So I decided to go with Germany” he said.

Jamal Musiala has been in superb form this season in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich having scored 10 goals and contributed 6 assists in 18 appearances so far.
