Lebron James breaks all-time scoring record in Lakers loss
NBA results round up as Nuggets, Grizzlies, Suns, others pick up wins in huge night of basketball
LeBron James set the NBA’s all-time scoring record, although the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder left their mark on the proceedings by earning a 133-130 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers. Lebron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record of 38,387 points as he finished with 38 points in the game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points and dished out eight assists for the Thunder.
Big man Nikola Jokic had 20 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds for his league-leading 19th triple-double of the season to lead host Denver Nuggets 146-112 past the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was a season high in points for Denver this season. Anthony Edwards and Luka Garza had 19 points apiece for the Timberwolves.
Elsewhere, Deandre Ayton tied a career high with 35 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as Phoenix Suns held on to win 116-112 in Brooklyn Nets, despite a record-breaking night by the Nets’ Cam Thomas. 21-year-old Thomas led the Nets in scoring with 43 points and by doing so became the youngest player in NBA history to score at least 40 points in three straight games. He had previously scored 47 and 43 points in his last two games.

Jalen Brunson finished with 25 points and Julius Randle added 22 points, 14 rebounds as the New York Knicks rallied past the Orlando Magic 102-98. Markelle Fultz scored 21 points to lead Orlando, which led for majority of the game but was outscored 36-29 in the fourth quarter.
New Orleans Pelicans beat the Atlanta Hawks 116-107 behind 30 points from guard Brandon Ingram. Bogdan Bogdanovic had 22 points for the Hawks. It was the Pelicans third straight win.
Memphis Grizzlies surged past Chicago Bulls 104-89 behind Ja Morant’s 34 points. The bulls were without star man DeMar DeRozan but got 28 points from center Nikola Vucevic.
