Afcon 2021: Morocco beat Ghana as Guinea edge Malawi

Morocco began their quest for a second Africa Cup of Nations title with a 1-0 victory over Ghana in a Group C meeting on Monday.

The Atlas Lions, champions in 1976, found the breakthrough in the 83rd minute through Soufiane Boufal to pocket all three points.

Ghana, four-time winners, will next face Gabon, while Morocco will try to keep up the intensity when they meet Comoros.

Elsewhere, Guinea defeated Malawi 1-0, thanks to a 35th minute strike from Issiaga Sylla.
