Gabon began their Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 win over tournament debutants Comoros at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo on Monday night.
Aaron Boupendza broke the deadlock in the 15th minute following a fine link-up with Louis Ameka in the penalty area before rifling a shot past Comoros’ goalie from close range.
