Super Eagles goalie Okoye reveals what Nigeria must do to stop Salah
Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has revealed plans to stop Egypt forward Mohamed Salah from causing trouble when Nigeria and Egypt meet in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles will begin their AFCON campaign with a Group D game against Egypt on January 11.
The fixture will see Nigeria come up against the 29-year-old Salah, who has scored 16 goals in 20 Premier League appearances for Liverpool and is now considered by many to be the best player in the world.
Okoye, who’s now signed to Watford but is currently on loan to Sparta Rotterdam, believes the Super Eagles can neutralise Salah if they are not scared.
“Like you said ninety minutes fully focused and confident, we are not allowed to be scared,” Okoye said as quoted by Allnigeriasoccer.
“I think we have the quality to stop even players like this not to give us too much danger.”
The Africa Cup of Nations gets underway January 9 in Cameroon.
