Ighalo might miss out on AFCON

Nigerian forward Odion Ighalo might miss out on the Africa Cup of Nations, per Ex NFF committee member Adepoju Tobi Samuel.

According to Samuel, there’s an issue between Ighalo and his club, Al Shabab with regards to a clause in his contract that bars the Nigerian from honouring call-ups for national team tournaments.

It’s understood that the Nigeria Football Federation and the Confederation of African Football are in discussion with the Saudi Arabian club, with a conclusion expected today.

Ighalo, 32, joined Al Shabab in February last year and has scored 11 goals in 15 Saudi Pro League appearances this season.
