AFCON preparations intensify as Super Eagles camp in Abuja receive more stars

13 players have arrived the Super Eagles’ training camp in Abuja ahead of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations which begins January 9 in Cameroon.

Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Maduka Okoye joined Porto’s Zaidu Sanusi, Nantes’ Moses Simon, AC Omonia’s Francis Uzoho, Olympiacos’ Henry Onyekuru, Slavia Prague’s Peter Olayinka as the latest players to join Austin Eguavoen’s group in the capital city.

The Super Eagles are currently preparing in Abuja before they fly to Cameroon later this week where they will battle for a fourth AFCON crown.

However, 15 players are still expected in the camp.

The Super Eagles will begin their AFCON campaign against Egypt at the Roumde Adjia Stadium on January 11, before facing Sudan and Guinea-Bissau in their other Group D fixtures.
