Nigeria national team head coach Gernot Rohr says the Super Eagles are in good shape ahead of Saturday’s World Cup qualifying meeting with Liberia.

The Super Eagles trained for the first time on Tuesday evening ahead of their clash with Liberia, which will hold at the Stade Ibn Batouta in Tangiers, Morocco.

Speaking with the NFF media, Rohr said: “We had 21 players, two goalkeepers and we are still missing three players who will come tomorrow, but it was a good training session.

“We had a good [training] with the players, some of them played two days ago before travelling, so we have to be careful because of injuries, but everything went well.

“My players are in good shape and there were some good goals [during training].

“The week is starting well which is good and we have a wonderful condition here in Morocco to train.

As at the time of writing, Victor Osimhen is already with team, while Odion Ighalo and John Noble are yet to arrive camp.

Nigeria are top of Group C with nine points after four games. They top second-placed Cape Verde with two points, and victory over Liberia will further increase their chances of qualification.
