Former Nigeria international Emenalo favourite to become Director of Football at Newcastle

Michael Emenalo is in line to be appointed as director of football at Newcastle after the club named Eddie Howe as head coach on Monday.

The Magpies are looking to recruit a director of football and former Nigeria international Emenalo is the front-runner after being interviewed by the club’s Saudi Arabian majority shareholders in Jeddah last week.

Emenalo, 56, worked in a similar role at Chelsea for ten years, and is known to be a fan of new manager, Howe.

The Nigerian was recently director of football at Monaco.
