Jamal Musiala, who at the age of 18 already plays in the Bayern Munich senior team and the German national team, has admitted to being nervous before games.

Having featured for England at the U21 level, Musiala opted to play for Germany at the senior level. The midfielder made his debut for the German national team back in March and opened his goalscoring account for Die Mannschaft in a 4–0 win over North Macedonia earlier in the week.

He’s also making his mark at club level for Bayern Munich with two goals and two assists in six Bundesliga appearances this season. The youngster has the makings of a future star and is already on a clear path to the top and that sometimes surprises him.

“It’s amazing how quickly everything went. Sometimes I need a few minutes to check it all out,” the teenager said in a recent interview with Kicker.

Musiala joined the senior team at Bayern Munich from the U19 level in July 2020. Last season, the midfielder, who’s Bayern’s all-time youngest goalscorer, found the back of the net six times in 26 league appearances and has kept it going in an impressive fashion this season.

He is already growing to become an integral part of Bayern Munich’s and Germany’s winning machine. But despite his exploits with the senior team, Musiala admits that he still gets nervous before games.

“I’m a little nervous before games, but very calm on the field.”

Given his performances for both club and country, those nerves truly do not betray him on the pitch.
