Egypt international and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah became the highest-scoring African player in Premier League history, following his hattrick against Manchester United on Sunday.

The 29-year-old started the day level with Chelsea and Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba, who had 104 goals. But after scoring three in their 5-0 win at Old Trafford, Salah not only broke Drogba’s record but went clear on 107 goals too.

The Egyptian, who once played for Chelsea, has become one of the Premier League’s most prolific strikers since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017. He is currently considered as the best player in the world.

Meanwhile, Salah’s teammate Sadio Mane, who owns the record for the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history, is third on the list with 100 goals.

While he was at Southampton, the Senegal international scored three goals in two minutes and 56 seconds in a 6-1 win against Aston Villa back in 2015.
