Sergio Ramos to miss more games for PSG
Sergio Ramos has failed to play a single minute for Paris Saint-Germain since his move from Real Madrid back in July.
The Spaniard – one of Real Madrid’s greatest ever defenders – has been having injury setbacks since joining PSG.
A statement released by the club on Thursday read: “Sergio Ramos will continue to train individually under the control of the medical and performance staff for another 10 days with the objective of returning to collective training.”
This means Ramos will miss three more games, including the clash with Marseille next Sunday. In all, he will have watched 14 games from the stands.
Three months after arriving in the French capital, the defensive legend is enduring a frustrating sequence of apparently getting close to featuring for the club only to suffer a relapse with his calf problem.
Coach Mauricio Pochettino understands how difficult it is on the player and says the defender has the support of the team.
“For a football player, being in his situation is not easy,” Pochettino lamented on Thursday during the traditional pre-match press conference. “He suffers from not being able to play but he is mentally strong. He has the support of the whole club through this moment. We hope to see him soon.”
PSG will face Angers at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 on Friday night.
