Iheanacho left stranded at Warsaw airport; to miss Europa League game against Legia

Nigeria international and Leicester forward, Kelechi Iheanacho was denied entry into Poland on Wednesday by the Polish Border Control at Warsaw airport due to issues with his paperwork.

Iheanacho had traveled with the Leicester City squad to Poland for Thursday’s Europa League encounter with Legia Warsaw.

Manager Brendan Rodgers said: “We’ve had an issue with Kelechi. His documentation coming into the country wasn’t sufficient.

“The paperwork didn’t allow him to enter the country. We’ll have to look at that when we’re back.”

The 24-year-old has been ruled out of the game as a result and will now return to the UK.
