World Cup qualifiers: Iheanacho on target as Nigeria beat Liberia in Lagos

The Super Eagles of Nigeria began their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a fine 2-0 victory over Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Friday.
Leicester City’s star forward, Kelechi Iheanacho put Nigeria 1–0 up in the 22nd minute and then doubled his side’s advantage with another goal just before half time.
Nigeria are now top of Group C and will look to keep it going when they travel to face Cape Verde on Tuesday, 7 September.
