Ahead of Barcelona‘s La Liga opener against Real Sociedad, Ronald Koeman spoke to the media and he talked about the strength of Barcelona’s squad in the wake of Leo Messi’s departure
The Dutchman will be without star man Leo Messi after he shocked the football world with a move to PSG, following a breakdown in his contract negotiations with Barca. Koeman highlighted the strength of the squad without their Argentine star.
“I think that we have talked a lot about Messi and I think it is normal because we are talking about the best player in the world. HE has shown all these years in this club, his talent and quality to win many trophies and it’s normal but as I said the other day, we would not have Messi anymore but we have many other players and a really strong squad in my opinion. once we recover our injured players then we would have a strong squad to win many things this season.”
Barca kick off their league campaign against Real Sociedad this Sunday 15th August, as they look to close the gap on Atletico and Real Madrid after finishing third last season.
