Messi could make PSG debut against Reims, says Pochettino
Lionel Messi could make his Paris Saint-Germain debut against Reims in Ligue 1 next weekend, says coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Messi moved to PSG this summer after two decades in Spain with Barcelona. However, the great Argentine has yet to feature for the French outfit, but the manager is hopeful that he will be ready to play next weekend.
“It’s been a very good week for Leo,” Pochettino told ESPN Argentina, after his side’s 4-2 win over Brest on Friday night.
“Next week will be a long one, but if all goes well, we hope he can be in the squad and start at a competitive level [against Reims].”
Messi enjoyed great success at Barcelona, where he won six Ballon d’Or awards and numerous trophies. He will be looking to replicate that level of success in France.
