Colorful Welcome,High Expectations As Ahmed Musa Joins Karagumruk Of Turkey
Nigeria Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa’s welcome in his new Turkish club Fatih Karagumruk was an elegant one which has been matched by big expectations from the fans of the club.
Musa has just signed for Super Lig Karagumruk for an undisclosed fee and period of time but the club made no secret of the importance of having a big catch in the Nigerian international.
In a video put out on its various social media platforms to announce the signing of Musa,the Nigerian is seen arriving in a black Mercedes Benz car ,then alighting from a lift and walking stately down the club office hallway to a room where he is shown putting pen to paper for the club.
Musa then holds up the red and black shirt of Karagumruk in admiration as video reels of some of his previous goals are shown.
“Ahmed Musa and Karagumruk, we added a 28-year-old Nigerian attacker to our squad,” the club wrote on Instagram.
“He played for clubs such as VVV Venlo, CSKA Moscow and Leicester City in his career. He scored 15 goals in 87 matches for the Nigerian national team.
“We wish success to Ahmed Musa under the Karagumruk jersey, signed by our Vice President Serkan Hurma and our Sporting Director Murat Akin.”
The signing of Musa has excited a number of Karagumruk fans who responded to the unveiling on twitter. One fan wrote:”finally we have a striker,” while another opined expressed belief that Musa’s arrival will attract other big names. “Just watch,other big players will follow him.”
Another fan wrote:”Amazing transfer,” with a clap emoji.
Musa left to Turkey from Nigerian top flight side Kano Pillars where he had been playing for some months after leaving Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia.
28-year old Musa has also had stints with Leicester City in the English Premier League as well with VVV Venlo of Holland and CSKA Moscow of Russia.
He won the Saudi Pro League and the Super Cup with Al Nassr.
