Zimbabwean striker Nyasha Mushekwi bought his boyhood club CAPS United a luxury bus worth $120,000 after securing a lucrative move to Chinese club Zhejiang Greentown FC in 2019.

The 34year old striker began his professional career with CAPS United in his home country Zimbabwe before moving to Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa.

He spent five years with the Brazilians and had two loans in Belgium and Sweden before joining Chinese club Dalian Yifang and after three years, he joined Zhejiang Greentown.

The luxury bus was branded in the club’s colours in South Africa and sent to Zimbabwe to show appreciation to CAPS for the role they played in his football career, exactly 10 years after he left Zimbabwe.

Few months later during the coronavirus pandemic, the bus was reportedly seen being used as a delivery vehicle, loaded with bags of maize.

According to the Herald, via Kickoff, the club explained that the maize and other donations were being delivered to players and staff who’ve been heavily affected by the national lockdown amidst the coronavirus crisis.

When asked for comments Mushekwi said the bus belongs to the club and not him and as such the five time Zimbabwean champions can use it as they deem fit.
