German champions Bayern Munich have signed young English defender Omar Richards from English Championship club Reading.
The 23-year-old defender is joining on a free transfer and has signed a contract with the German champions until 2025. He will take the number 3 shirt.
“My move to FC Bayern is a great honour for me. A dream has come true. I’m proud to be wearing the shirt of one of the world’s biggest clubs,” Richards said after completing his move.
“I hope I can help the team continue to be successful in the future. My thanks to the management at FC Bayern for their trust. Our conversations were very convincing. I can’t wait to be on the pitch for Bayern. Mia san mia!”
Richards grew through the youth systems of Fulham and Reading and has been a regular for Reading since making his debut in 2016 at the age of 18.
